How do I reach that peaceful state of my mind ?

Have you ever felt your body calm, your breath gentle, and your mind quiet — all aligned in perfect harmony? In those moments, you experience bliss, freedom, and peace. The natural question is: How do I reach this state of mind? And more importantly, how do I reach here whenever I want, wherever I am?

In reality, life rarely feels peaceful. We are constantly busy with responsibilities:

  • If you are a student, your time is filled with studies, homework, exams, and challenges.

  • If you are a working professional, your days are packed with deadlines, meetings, customers, and team management. And beyond work, you still have home responsibilities — caring for parents, family, and other personal tasks.

Life feels like a race, and along the way, disturbances and obstacles appear. They affect our happiness, motivation, and positivity. Small issues at school, at work, or in relationships can grow into bigger frustrations — like a snowball rolling downhill. Over time, we find ourselves irritated, restless, or even exhausted without really knowing why. We can prepare ourselves well , so that we handle situations better, with better clarity. This is where yoga therapy offers us simple yet powerful tools.

A Simple Yoga Breathing Practice for Peace

Here’s a short practice you can try anywhere, anytime:

  1. Find a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed. Sit comfortably, keeping your spine upright. Close your eyes.

  3. Place your right palm on your abdomen and your left palm on your chest.

  4. Inhale gently through your nose. Let your abdomen expand softly like a balloon.

  5. Exhale slowly, allowing your abdomen to relax back in.

  6. Repeat this conscious breathing 6 times, pause with normal breathing for few seconds and continue conscious breathing 6 more times.

  7. Rest your palms on your knees. Relax and Keep your eyes closed and simply enjoy the calm.

  8. When you are ready to move on, gently open your eyes, rub your palms together, and place them softly on your face.

With just a few minutes of this mindful breathing, you will notice your mind becoming calmer and your body more relaxed. This is the doorway to a peaceful state of mind. Peace of mind is not something we chase outside — it is something we nurture within. Through simple yoga practices like conscious breathing, we can return to this calm state whenever life feels overwhelming.
