What is Yoga Therapy ?

Yoga Therapy is about giving a personalized course plan that comprises of Postures / modified postures , breathing techniques ,chanting, visualization and other tools to an individual specifically addressing the health challenges.  

Yoga Therapy is a holistic approach for an individual , through simple and gentle movements, appropriate breathing techniques and other tools by taking into consideration the age, profession, time available for the practice . It helps an individual to address challenges at body, mind and emotional levels through a simplified personal practice.

Our Approach

We start our consultation with one on one session to understand the specific  needs / health issues of the person , life style, work life and the health goal. We will design a course plan meeting the specific requirements of the person for the preferred time duration taking into consideration of all the details.

It  is a simple, gentle practice , easy for an anyone to follow. It is not necessary for the person to know Yoga . We will adapt and design a simple practice  to do it comfortably at their own pace. We will teach and explain the practice during the online session .

Following this, you will need to do the practice at your home at the convenient time regularly and connect with us for any doubt / to give feedback.   Generally, people get back to us after one or two weeks to give the feedback and continue with therapy sessions.

Shanthi was working as a Software Professional for more than 25 years focusing on career growth . With tight  deadlines and challenging work atmosphere,  She started facing lots of health issues like chronic back pain, frozen shoulder, vertigo and depression over a period of time.  She was going through various treatments for a permanent cure to address the health issues . Unfortunately, she had only temporary relief with rest, medication and other treatments. Based on her friends advise , she went for few yoga therapy sessions and found good improvement in her health within few days. This motivated her to continue the personal practice consistently as advised by her Yoga Therapist . While continuing the practice diligently, shanthi also noticed that her stress levels were going down . Later she realized that the breathing techniques had a huge role in keeping her calm and peaceful.

She started leading pain free life with more energy and enthusiasm . It was like a new found freedom – ability to do what you want to do without any bodily pain or mental disturbances.  This motivated her to get the deeper understanding of how yoga therapy works. She quit her Corporate job and enrolled for a Yoga Teacher Training Programme at Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram , Chennai . she was taking classes for School students, working women, home makers , Chair Yoga for elderly people both online and in person classes.

She had also completed Healing chants programe and Yoga Therapy Training program at Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram , Chennai.

 

As a Yoga Therapist, Shanthis vision is to  help people lead a healthy and happy life through Yoga Therapy – a simple and gentle holistic approach. She strongly believes that everyone deserves a healthy, happy and peaceful life and it can be achieved by dedicating sometime everyday though Yoga Therapy.
